I’ve mentioned before, even recently, making breakfast for the kids. That’s now my job on the weekends. Used to, I would make them breakfast every day in preparation for school while Charlie got them ready.

And then we realized it worked better if she did the cooking and I did the getting them ready. But I would stress out a little bit about the time constraints. And because I wish Billy Osborne was here.

She understands. She raised five kids. She knows how chaotic it gets.

It’s like feeding time at the zoo. And so it just time gets away from you. And so I learned that this child likes this color plate, this child likes this color plate, take them out, stack them, stack the dishes in the order that I was going to use them.

I’d even, if I was really prepared, I would pre-crack all the eggs and put them in a Tupperware container and put them back in the fridge, not in a stack on the counter. But I would do all these things in preparation, and it would work so well that I should do something that helps, and it makes life easier, and it helps us accomplish what we’re trying to do. I was thinking this weekend about all the people who had to be prepared for this snowstorm we had.

The people at ODOT who stockpiled the sand and the salt and made sure the trucks were working so that they could get the roads open again. They had to be prepared. They couldn’t just wait for the snow.

Those of you who were here last Sunday, especially last Sunday night, We talked about how we’re going to start a study of the book of Luke. But since we have just come from Christmastime, and we’ve also, so we’ve heard the story of Jesus’ birth several times. Not that there’s anything wrong with hearing that story several times, but because we’ve spent a month or so focused on that.
