Through Hopoksa, you will find resources focused on:
- Scripture and biblical exposition
- Theology and historic Christian doctrine
- Apologetics and the defense of the faith
- Discipleship and faithful Christian living
- Church life and pastoral ministry
- English and Spanish teaching resources
This ministry began in 2010 as Rejoicing in Truth, an online teaching ministry devoted to Christian doctrine, apologetics, and discipleship. Over time, the work grew to include sermons, articles, books, Bible studies, and resources for the local church. In 2025, after spending time in northern New Mexico and seeing more clearly the need for faithful Christian teaching in Spanish as well as English, Jared became convinced that the ministry should expand its reach across languages.
That conviction also made a new name helpful. Rather than choosing a title that would need to be translated differently in English and Spanish, Jared turned to his Choctaw heritage for inspiration. The name Hopoksa is not a random word from a random language, but a word connected to his family heritage and to the purpose of the ministry itself.
In Choctaw dictionaries, hopoksa is associated with wisdom, sobriety, humility, prudence, discernment, moral uprightness, and spiritual transformation. Related words also carry the idea of discipline and formation. These meanings reflect the kind of wisdom Hopoksa seeks to encourage: not merely information or cleverness, but a life shaped by truth, humility, self-control, and obedience to God.
Hopoksa is rooted in historic Christianity and centered on the life and ministry of the local church. Its resources are written from a confessional Baptist perspective and are intended to strengthen ordinary believers, families, churches, and students. The goal is not novelty, celebrity, or controversy for its own sake, but faithful Christian teaching that is careful, accessible, and useful.
In a noisy and distracted world, Hopoksa aims to offer teaching marked by conviction without arrogance, clarity without shallowness, and wisdom that leads to faithful living before God.
