Jared Byrns is the pastor of Central Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. He writes, teaches, preaches, and produces resources related to Scripture, theology, apologetics, discipleship, and ministry.

What does Jared believe?
As a general summary, Jared’s teaching reflects the following convictions:
- theologically conservative, confessional, evangelical, and Southern Baptist;
- affirming the inspiration, inerrancy, authority, reliability, clarity, and sufficiency of Scripture;
- affirming the Baptist Faith and Message 2000;
- holding to a Provisionist understanding of salvation rather than Calvinism or Arminianism as those terms are commonly used;
- affirming that the office of pastor/elder/overseer is reserved for biblically qualified men;
- affirming the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death;
- affirming the traditional biblical view of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, and the goodness of God’s design for men and women;
- affirming the literal truth of the Genesis account of creation; and
- believing in the premillennial return of Christ and holding to a pretribulational view of the rapture, while recognizing that faithful Christians differ on some details of eschatology.

Jared publishes selected resources in multiple languages in order to make biblical teaching available to a wider audience.

Why do some older resources look or sound different?
Some resources on this site were originally written, preached, recorded, or published many years ago.

Where practical, older material may be updated, reformatted, clarified, archived, or removed over time.
Why are some books sold instead of given away?
Jared’s goal is not to monetize teaching content but to make it available as widely as possible.
Books are sometimes sold because printed and professionally distributed editions involve publishing, printing, and platform costs. The sale price of a book should not be understood as a charge for access to the biblical teaching itself.
Whenever practical, related teaching materials may also be available freely through the website.
What if I have a problem with a book order?
Book orders are generally fulfilled by third-party sellers or publishing platforms such as Amazon/KDP.
Questions about shipping, damaged copies, returns, refunds, payment problems, or order status should normally be directed to the seller or platform through which the book was purchased.
Can I donate through this website?
No. Jared does not solicit or accept donations through this website.
If you are looking for a ministry to support financially, you should first give faithfully through your local church. Beyond that, Jared recommends gifts to the International Mission Board.
About Hopoksa
What is Hopoksa Ministries?
Hopoksa Ministries is a registered trade name Jared Byrns uses for some of his publishing, teaching, and media work.
Resources published under the Hopoksa name may include books, teaching tools, podcast material, translations, and other Christian resources.
What does “Hopoksa” mean?
The name “Hopoksa” comes from the Choctaw language and is associated with ideas such as wisdom, understanding, and sound judgment.
Jared chose the name because it reflects both his family heritage and the kind of biblical wisdom he seeks to encourage through his teaching and writing.
What happened to Rejoicing in Truth?
Jared began this work in 2010 under the name Rejoicing in Truth, publishing online teaching related to Christian doctrine, apologetics, and discipleship.
As the work expanded and became more intentionally multilingual, Jared adopted the name Hopoksa. Some older resources may therefore still refer to Rejoicing in Truth.
Is Hopoksa a church?
No. Hopoksa is not a church, denomination, missions agency, or separate ecclesiastical organization.
Jared’s teaching and writing are rooted in the life and ministry of the local church, but resources published under the Hopoksa name should not be understood as official statements of any church or denomination unless specifically identified as such.
Is Hopoksa affiliated with a denomination?
Hopoksa itself is not a denomination or denominational entity.
Jared’s teaching reflects a conservative, confessional Southern Baptist perspective, and he affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Resources published under the Hopoksa name should be understood as expressing Jared’s own biblical and theological convictions rather than speaking officially for the Southern Baptist Convention or any other denominational body.
